Research

Multiphase flow through fractures - I'm studying at the moment multiphase flow throug rocks, the emphasis being on flow through complex fractures. I'm doing Lattice-Boltzmann simulations to probe the relationship between microscopic disorder and macroscopic dynamics.

Statistical physics of rigidity and elasticity - I did my PhD Thesis (University of Jyvaskyla, Finland, October 2002) on the mechanical properties of randomly structured materials. These included random networks and granular packing, and we used e.g. constraint counting methods.

Teaching

Right now I'm not involved in teaching, but in Jyvaskyla I gave lectures on Statistical Physics, Stochastic Processes, and Condensed Matter Physics.
